Q: Is this for 5/8” or 3/4” Polypro hoops?
The repair kit is for ALL 5/8”, 11/16”, and 3/4” Polypro and HDPE Hoops. You will be asked to specify which type of hoop this is for. 5/8” and 11/16” hoops can use the same repair kit; 3/4” hoops require a larger polycarb connector piece.
Q: Can I fix any Polypro hoop with the Repair Kit, or does it have to be a GeoRev Hoop?
You can fix any polypro hoop with our kit, just buy the stand-alone version or bundle it with a hoop from us to save! We use vertically oriented hardware, but have included instructions for repairing hoops with side oriented hardware made by other companies.
Q: Is this for a broken connection, or can I also use it to fix broken tubing?
A: This kit works best at home with limited tools repairing broken connections, utilizing the same holes the original hoopsmith has already drilled to install the original hardware. However, we have also included written and video instructions for repairing kinked or broken tubing, or downsizing the hoop. If you don’t have access to tubing cutters, we have created instructions to cut the tubing using heat and a utility knife. This is not particularly easy, but we have taken every step to help you learn how to do it.
Q: Can I use this kit on beginner or kids hoops?
A: No, this kit contains a polycarb connector piece that will not fit in other types of hoops. Beginner and kids hoops typically don’t break. Please contact us if you have a broken beginner or kids hoop purchased from us and we will alter the kit to assist your repair if possible.
Q: What tools do I need, and what if I don’t own them?
A: All you need to use our repair kit is a screw gun with drill bits and a utility knife! To cut tubing without tubing cutters, you’ll also need a hairdryer to heat the tubing and make it softer.
Don’t own these tools? No problem! Many households have a screw gun, so ask around—someone you know may lend you one. Utility knives are easy to find at the hardware store - get a sturdy one.
Q: How long does it take to ship?
A: Warranty kits may take up to 3 weeks to process and ship. Standard purchases are processed faster.
